DAY 1: Kathmandu, Nepal

Arrive Kathmandu. A representative from Exotic Journeys will meet you in the arrival lounge and transfer you to hotel.

Kathmandu Valley has an exotic setting. It is surrounded by tier upon tier of green mountains and snow-capped peaks. It consists of three main towns of historic, artistic and cultural interest, Kathmandu, Patan and Bhadgaon. The Kathmandu Valley covers an area of 218 sq. miles. It is situated at 4,423 ft. above sea level. The major tourist attractions in Kathmandu include, Machendranath Temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Temple of Kumari (Living Goddess), and Pashupatinath Temple.

The Kathmandu Valley is surrounded by beautiful and interesting villages and towns with histories and legends of their own, and temples, shrines and statuaries. There also are several places on the mountains that ring the valley and command dramatic views of the great Himalayan peaks.

Patan (Lalitpur): This ancient city is situated on the southern bank of the river Bagmati and is about five kilometers southeast of Kathmandu. The city is full of Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples, with fine bronze gateways, guardian deities and wonderful carvings. Noted for its craftsmen and metal workers, it is known as the city of artists. 

Bhaktapur, also know as Bhadgaon is home to medieval art and architecture. Bhaktapur means 'the city of devotees' . The town was founded in 889 ADat an altitude od 4,600 ft.

DAY 2: Kathmandu

City tour visiting Pashupatinath - One of the holiest Hindu shrines situated on the banks of the Bagmati River. The richly ornamented pagoda is devoted to Lord Shiva. This is also a cremation site for Hindus. Just a few minutes drive from Pashupatinath is Boudhanath which is one of the biggest stupas in the world. With its four pair of eyes in four cardinal directions, it keeps watch for righteous behaviour and human property.

In the afternoon we drive to Swayambhunath, a 2000 years old stupa. From Swayambhunath we drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square. It has more than 50 temples and shrines within a few blocks, the square contains one of the most concentrated groupings of historical structures in the valley. This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu.

DAY 3: Lukla (2,860m/ 9,383ft) / trek to Phakding (2,640m/ 8,661ft / 3 .5hrs.)
Hiking distance 7km / 4.3miles

A 40 minute morning flight will take you to Lukla. After walking few minutes from Lukla airport, stop at a restaurant for tea, books, internet facility. If you need some trekking gear you can buy it here in Lukla.

We walk for 3 - 4 hours to reach Phakding through Chaurikharka, Chiplong, Thadokovi and Ghat. We can see spectacular Himalayan views from Chiplong and Thadokovi. The religion of the people of this region is Buddhism so we can see many monasteries, Maane and script are written on the rock in Tibetan language.

DAY 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft / 6hrs.)
Hiking distance 9 km/ 5.6 miles

We walk along the bank of Dudkoshi River for few hours, cross Dudhkoshi River bridge, take a steep route to Namche Bazaar. On a clear day, you can see Mount Everest from Thami Danda. We can see many beautiful mountains and water falls on the way. Namche is the biggest commercial area of the Everest Region, here we can find everything needed for Trekkers, like internet facility and ATM. Every Friday and Saturday local people set up a market until 1pm. People from nearby villages come and buy daily commodities. Bakery café and Pub are also available in Namche.

At Khumjung we can see a Monastery and the school established by Sir Edmund Hilary. During this trekking we will have a chance to see many beautiful mountains. You can also visit Sherpa Museum located in Namche. After a day hiking return to Namche, have dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: Trek to Thyangboche (3,860m/12,664ft, 6 hrs approx.)
Hiking distance 9.5 km/5.9 miles

Today the trail will lead you towards to view the Mt. Everest. Then descends deep into the Dudh Kosi Valley; from here it ascends the right flank of the Dudh Kosi valley to Thyanboche Monastery. The monastery is called the spiritual centre of Khumbu region. During the trek we will see Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks.

DAY 6: Trek to Imja Khola Valley (3950m / 12606 ft/ 5hrs app)

Today’s journey towards consists of a trek through forests filled with of a variety of lush trees - birch, conifers and rhododendron. This picturesque trail dips, crossing the Imja River.

DAY 7: Trek to Dingboche - Phunki Thangka Dingboche (4,358m/14,297ft, 4 hrs app.)
Hiking distance 6.6 km/6.5 miles

We will trek up to the highest altitude in this program. You will feel the altitude today and you will need to take your time to hike and enjoy the view along the way. Dingboche provides splendid views of Cholatse, Tawachee, Makalu and the huge south face of Lhotse peaks.

DAY 8: Phunki Thangka – Jorsale (2740m / 12,620 ft, 5 hrs app.)
Hiking distance 10.5 km/6.5 miles

Today’s trek will be to Khumjung, Namche Bazaar and then to Jorsale, a small village on the banks of Dudh Kosi river, just south of Namche Bazaar.

DAY 9: Jorsale – Lukla

We trek down through Benkar (2630m / 8765 ft), Phakding (2610m / 8699 ft) and then climb up to Chaurikharka (3861m / 12667 ft) to Lukla.

DAY 10: Kathmandu

Fly back to Kathmandu. On arrival we transfer to your hotel.

DAY 11: Kathmandu

Free time until your departure flight.
Check out from the hotel by 1200 noon.

    7. Down jacket, wool shirt and heavy sweater in autumn and early spring
      trek.
    8. Socks-woolen or pile and cotton (3 pair each)
    9. Gloves or mittens - woolen
    10. Shorts and trousers or skirts. Long Skirts are better for women.
    11. Shirts - cotton long and short sleeved

    13. Walking shoe - trek boot are useful in all condition. Running shoes are sufficient in short trek and hike.
    14. Sleeper or sandals - to use at campsite.
