Fly to Amboseli. Meeting, assistanace and transfer to jungle camp.
Amboseli National Park: Amboseli National Park is located at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Tortillis Camp: Your stay at Amboseli will be at Tortillis Camp. The Camp is widely regarded as the prime location for witnessing the majesty of snow-capped Kilimanjaro. The Camp is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree that surrounds the camp, the Acacia Tortili. The tents are all spacious, with king or twin beds and elegant en suite bathrooms. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro
Overnight at Tortilis Camp
Spend the day exploring this park that is rich in diversity. You will have morning and afternoon game viewing drives. The Park is famous for the dramatic views of Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain in the world, and the highest peak on the African continent. Kilimanjaro at 19,340ft or 5,894m rises dramatically out of the 4000ft (1,200m) Amboseli plains. Amboseli is also famous for its elephant herds, which have been followed and documented by world renowned researcher Cynthia Moss.
Enjoy game drives and Sun downers in complete privacy. The guides delight in sharing their local knowledge, especially of the elephant families and their histories and to point out the special flora and fauna of this breath taking area. They impart their inherited knowledge of the bush, traditional medicine and folklore and will encourage you to take a practical interest in the environment.
Overnight at Tortilis Camp
Fly to Maasai Mara via Nairobi.
At the Mara airstrip, you will be picked up and as you have game drives en-route, you will arrive at the Camp for check-in and lunch.
Enjoy a restful afternoon, before embarking on an evening game drive.
Scenically, the Mara epitomizes the Africa of childhood imaginings: the lone Acacia tree against the cobalt sky, rolling plains that positively heave with life, the sluggish curves of the Mara River choc-a-bloc with hippo and crocs and the odd red "shuka" of a Maasai herdsman who carry on their
normal pace of life, largely oblivious of all the commotion around them, mingling almost freely with the wildlife. This great reserve is famous for the Big Five of Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino. You will definitely see the fastest animal on earth; the cheetah and the fastest bird on the ground, the common Ostrich among plenty of bird species; over 470 recorded species.
Enjoy the afternoon game viewing, then later dinner and overnight at the Camp.
